How We Deal With Your Moth Problem

What can I do when I find that I have moths in my house? This is a question that many people ask us. Most people only realise that they have a moth infestation when they go into their wardrobe, pull out some clothes to wear and find lots of small holes all over the clothing. The larvae of the clothes moth favours materials such as wool, angora and cashmere. Once you find damaged clothes you should also check the edges of carpets especially if they are a wool blend, as the larvae also feed on this material. By this point the infestation has taken hold and you should get a pest control company to effectively treat the problem.

Diamond Pest Control can help you get rid of your moth problem. Our treatment programme consists of three visits, we trace the source of infestation, remove and destroy any infested materials and then apply a residual insecticide to the infested areas.

Whilst it is not difficult to control these moths and the treatment is very effective, it is essential that a thorough treatment be carried out and that every larva is treated. Before any treatment commences the property has to be prepared for treatment and full instructions are given at the time of booking by the surveyor. We carry out two further follow up visits which are carried out at weekly intervals.

If you want to find out more about our moth treatments any of our surveyors will be happy to answer any questions.

Keep Your Pets Flea Free

We love our pets and one of the best ways to keep them happy is to make sure they don’t get fleas!

If you find that your pet does have fleas you will need to use a specified flea treatment and you should contact your vet, they will be able to advise on the best flea product for your pet and answer any questions about the treatment and application. You can usually treat your pet for fleas at home.

Remember that fleas can survive for many months without a host. This is why it is so important to regularly vacuum all your furniture and floors, you should also pay particular attention to the skirting boards and those hard-to-get-to corners where the insects might be hiding.

If you vacuum on a regular basis you should make sure that your pet’s bed is also thoroughly vacuumed each time you clean. This might help you prevent an infestation before it takes hold as regular vacuuming may help remove fleas when they are at each stage of their life cycle.

It is also really important to empty out all the dust from your vacuum cleaner immediately after you use every time, as otherwise you run the risk of reinfecting your home again.

Keep your pets happy and flea free!

If you do have a flea infestation and would like some information about how to get rid of them from your home, you can contact us on 0208 889 1036, our surveyor will be happy to answer any questions you have. Call us today for advice!

Our Amazing Reviews!!!

If you read through our TrustPilot reviews you will see how happy our customers are with our service,  here is our latest review:

Diamond Pest Control have been fantastic in helping us to get rid of a rat problem in our house. We had used another company initially, and within a month we saw another rat. I now realise that the other company hadn’t done a thorough job at all. I called Diamond Pest Control on a Saturday evening, and the next morning, Louis came to investigate and put down poison (in all sorts of areas that the other company hadn’t). He also inspected the whole house. He was extremely friendly and informative, and very thorough, leaving no stone unturned! He came back twice more, and has now filled up all the possible entry points. We have a 3-month guarantee anyway, which has filled us with confidence. I would wholeheartedly recommend Diamond Pest Control for a speedy, efficient and expert service.

Ants

There are various species of ants, among them are pharoah ants, argentine ants, carpenter ants, fire ants etc. The most common garden ants usually nest outdoors in sandy soils but travel widely to look for food, they become a pest when they come into our homes looking for food. Garden ants are normally controlled using residual insecticides in spray and dust form. In homes we would usually treat the kitchen and garden areas where the ants may have originally entered the premises. Our technician will carry out an inspection of your premises prior to any treatment and assess the level and extent of the infestation. Some other types of ants, including pharoah and argentine ants, require a different treatment in order to eradicate them, if you use store bought products on these ants your could make the problem worse. We also treat flying ants which according to reports might become a problem this summer

Moth Pest Control

Moths Are a Serious Pest

Moths are a serious pest. The caterpillar (larva) of this moth takes its nourishment from clothing such as woollens, angora, cashmere and furs. The damage they do from feeding can be severe. The larvae are difficult to detect as they shun the light, so you may only find that you have an infestation when you find your damaged clothes or carpets.

Houses with attic spaces may find they have a significant problem because moths can live in the attic undisturbed for long periods of time and can cause significant damage during their life cycle. It can be quite upsetting to find items which may be of value to you with moth damage. You need to act fast and treat a moth infestation quickly.

Our treatment programme for moths usually consists of three visits. Our technician will carry out a thorough inspection of your premises prior to any treatment and assess the level and extent of the infestation.

Treatments consist of tracing the source of infestation, removing and destroying any infested materials and then applying a residual insecticide to infested areas.

Whilst there is no difficulty in controlling these moths, it is essential that a thorough treatment be carried out and that every possible larva development site is treated. Our second and third visits are carried out at weekly intervals after the initial treatment and are exactly the same as the first visit.

Our moth treatment comes with a three month guarantee.

Contact us today and we can arrange for our surveyor to carry out a free survey.

Summer pests

We’ve had a long and cold winter and now that the weather is starting to get warmer we all want to be out in our gardens enjoying the sunshine. It’s also at this time of year that you may start to see ants and wasps. These are not usually a problem but if these insects become a nuisance and stop you enjoying your outdoor space you may need to contact a pest control expert.

Wasps in particular can be a problem, especially if they have built a nest in your garden or roof space. If you see wasps going in and out of a particular hole on a regular basis you may have a nest but bear in mind that you should not attempt to treat a wasp’s nest by yourself as it is likely to be difficult and possibly dangerous. If you call us our surveyors will explain how our treatments work and are happy to answer any questions you may have. We can then arrange for a technician to visit your property and eradicate the pest.
