1. CLEAN
Clean all your kitchen surfaces thoroughly both before and after you prepare meals, cook and eat food.
2. SCRAPS
Put any peelings, crumbs and other food scraps directly into a bin, or seal them in an air tight bag.
3. DISHES
Wash all the pans, pots, glasses, cups, utensils, cutlery and dishes after the meal you have used them for.
4. PETS
Clear away pet food straight after feeding your cat or dog, and clean their bowls regularly after every meal.
5. BEHIND
Clean those hard-to-reach areas behind the bigger electrical appliances in your kitchen like fridges and oven.
6. ROUTINE
Establish and maintain a cleaning schedule, making sure you stick to it long term and do it regularly.
7. CONTAIN
Store opened food and ingredients in tightly sealed containers, even if you are keeping them in a cupboard.
8. NIGHT
Make sure cupboards, floors, tables and worktops are free from food remnants and spills before going to bed.
9. REPAIR
Assess your home for any cracks, gaps, and holes where unwanted pests could gain access, then seal them up.
