Best Gadgets To Stop Flies Infesting

How do you stop flies infesting your home? Flies are easily one of the most irritating insects. Not only are they disgusting and disease spreading pests, but they’re also hard to kill. Anyone who has run around after flies with a swatter will already know this. They move quickly, dodge effortlessly, and can fly into hard to reach places. Whatever the reason for flies in the home, there are dozens of gadgets you can use to kill flies and stop them becoming an infestation.

These gizmos can stop flies infesting your home

1. Fly paper and strips

The easiest way to stop flies infesting is simply by placing fly paper. This is basically an extremely sticky paper which also contains pheromones which attract flies. Once the fly lands on the paper, they become stuck and eventually die. Just place this paper around your home and flies will quickly be a thing of the past.

2. Fly traps

There are dozens of varieties of fly traps available. In most cases, these consist of a bait that is placed inside a chamber from which the flies cannot exit. These traps are often used to control flies in the garden, and can actually be made at home. Another option is a Venus fly trap plant, although these don’t deal with many flies at once.

The simplest way to do this is by taking a soft drink bottle and cutting it in half. You then place a bait – such as sugar water – into the bottom of the bottle. Next, you invert the top half into the bottom. The flies will enter through the mouth of the bottle and then be unable to escape.

3. Fly zappers

Zappers can also be used to stop flies infesting your home. These devices basically consist of an ultra violet light which attracts insects. When they fly towards this light, they hit a metal grid which is electrified, and this kills them instantly.

4. Fly fans

These fans consist of a triangular tube with two soft blades at the top. When turned on, these fans blow air upwards and this helps to get rid of the flies. This is important because you don’t always want a fan blowing in your direction. Many people report that they are actually quite effective.

5. Ultrasonic devices

Of all the different types of fly control products, these devices should be avoided. This is basically because they are scams. The people who sell these gadgets claim that the devices use ultrasonic frequencies to prevent insects. Unfortunately, this is complete nonsense. There is no evidence that insects can be killed by sound waves.
